Newfield – Williston, ND is seeking an experienced Lease Operator to operate, monitor and maintain production volumes and lease production facilities to maximize oil and gas sales and control lease operating expenses while maintaining a clean and safe operating environment.

Detailed Description

  • Managing well sites to include gauging tanks, check of assigned wells, test wells, minor maintenance, monitor daily prod volume, monitor sales meter, sell crude oil.

  • Maintain equipment and reporting production utilizing MERRICK.

  • Properly maintain, operate, lubricate, care for, perform maintenance on, adjust, and replace mechanical equipment such as pumping units, gas and electric motors, chemical pumps, plunger lift equipment, compressors, etc.

  • Properly handle the chemicals used in production.

  • Properly maintain and operate tools needed to perform duties.

  • Ensure locations meet SPCC requirements to include cleaning wellhead oil spills, dragging locations and keeping locations free of weeds.

  • Report daily production data using a computer-based reporting system.

  • Perform responsibilities complying with all governmental regulatory requirements and within the company’s standard procedures and established policies.

Job Requirements

Knowledge, skills and abilities

  • Working knowledge of natural gas engines and a minimum of two years experience working with rod-pump units and production equipment.  

  • Aptitude for math with an ability to easily perform basic to intermediate math functions.

  • Solid computer and communication skills.

  • Organized and deadline oriented individual with experience maintaining documents and submitting accurate reports.

  • Proven record of working independently, under minimal direct supervision.

  • Must demonstrate a strong desire to apply innovative ideas in the field.

  • Outside work in harsh weather conditions is required.

Additional Details

Minimum qualifications

  • High school diploma preferred; college degree a plus.

  • Minimum 3 years oil and gas experience.
