Brief Posting Description

The GIS Technician will be responsible for creating an interactive mapping system that links Right of Ways’s, SUA’s, leases, and other relevant contracts to GIS Spatial references and maps.  The GIS Technician will also be asked to learn AutoCad and to assist the Facilities Engineering team in utilization of AutoCad in their daily work flow.

Detailed Description

•       Incorporation of all Surveyor related data into Newfield’s ARC Map system and data bases for use in Newfields Mapping systems.

•       Development & implementation of a User Interface to the GIS system which allows access to documents such as ROW’s and Agreements for given area that has been mapped.

•       Upkeep of all mapping and GIS related systems and infrastructure as it relates to the Rocky Mountains Operations group.

•       Learn AutoCAD, specifically the P&ID packages. 

•       Use AutoCAD in support of Facilities and Operations Groups to upkeep of documents, diagrams and plans.

•       Assist Field Personnel in ground-truthing field systems and lead effort to document systems and as-builts as needed. 

•       Various other duties as required of an engineering tech in the operations group of  Newfield’s Rocky Mountain Business Unit.

 

Job Requirements

•       Working knowledge and expertise with ARC Maps/ARCView program.

•       Working knowledge of, or the ability to learn and work with AutoCAD.

•       Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Office programs.

•       Great work ethic, energetic and enthusiastic about working in the oil and gas industry.

Additional Details

•       Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience .

•       Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.

•       Well-developed verbal, written, communication and presentation skills.

•       Self-Driven and Motivated to achieve stretch goals.
