Brief Posting Description

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) position is responsible for aligning HR Strategy with the business needs. This position must be able to leverage internal best practices, anticipate the impact of change on the groups being supported and consult with leaders to make recommendations that will drive business results. HRBP’s at Newfield are critical for corporate initiative support and business unit efficiency. Day-to-day duties include full-cycle talent management, onboarding/off-boarding, employee relations, organizational structure, policy implementation, performance management, payroll review, random drug test coordination, talent development and leadership team support.

Detailed Description

 

 

  • Have a broad understanding and working knowledge of Human Resources practices, employment law, organizational design, talent management and financial analysis in order to provide day-to-day support to client groups

  • Administer onboarding/off-boarding processes and procedures for both employee and contingent worker needs

  • Assess HR implications of the business strategy and identify opportunities to further meet organizational needs

  • Collaborate with colleagues in the centers of expertise (i.e. Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, Compensation/Benefits, Relocation etc.) in order to apply sufficient HR resources to the organization

  • Collaborate with colleagues in the organization’s customer service teams (i.e. Office Services, IT, Records and Administrative) in order to provide efficient support to the organization

  • Coach internal leadership teams regarding issues that impact the business needs

  • Participate in the implementation of company-wide HR initiatives through administrative responsibilities and/or delivery of presentations to technical/commercial team members and regional management

  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and leadership on hiring candidates and in identifying key skill gaps in the organization in order to hire the appropriate candidate

  • Promote the development of employees through coaching, feedback and supporting management in the creation of personal development plans

  • Assist on special projects as needed

 

Job Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field of study

  • A minimum of 8 years’ experience working as an HR Business Partner and/or HR Generalist

  • 5 years of Oil and Gas experience preferred

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft’s Office Suite including PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook and Internet tools

  • Excellent presentation and verbal/written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization

  • Thorough knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local employment laws, compensation philosophies, HR operating procedures and best practices

  • Experience conducting, documenting and messaging variety of employee relations issues

  • Experience partnering with managers to deliver HR solutions

  • Demonstrated ability to be proactive in anticipating the needs of the business and developing responsive/supportive HR strategy

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Ability to travel on occasions to other business locations within Newfield
