Brief Posting Description

Summer Internship Position

A summer intern at Newfield will work under the direction of an experienced engineering mentor on a variety of projects.  Internships are available in drilling, production/operations, and reservoir engineering.  Newfield will consider selected undergraduate and Masters Degree candidates for intern positions that have demonstrated strong academic performance.

Office internships are available in The Woodlands, TX.  Office interns can expect to interface with experienced engineers, foremen, landmen and geoscientists, as well as industry specialists with outside service companies.  Depending upon the discipline selected, typical assignments include prospect evaluation and economic analysis, drilling, completion, workover, stimulation, artificial lift and facilities projects.  In many cases our summer interns are able to complete their engineering evaluation, get projects approved, and supervise their work in the field.  Seminars, in-house courses and field trips supplement the hands-on work experience.

Field-based internships may be offered to Freshman and Sophomore candidates, and are located in select district offices in Utah, Texas and Oklahoma. Field-based interns assist Production Foremen, Lease Operators and Technicians with well and facility maintenance, construction and routine production operations.

Expect your summer at Newfield to be fast-paced, exciting, and productive.  Interns work on real projects, intended to add material value to the company, not re-cycled projects for training purposes only.  At the end of the summer, each student will present the results of their work to the technical staff and upper management.  At Newfield Exploration interns are a part of the team, contributing to the success of our company.

Interview candidates are required to provide a copy of their unofficial transcript during scheduled interview slot.
