Brief Posting Description

This position will require a detail oriented self-starter with 6-12 years of field experience in land management, including  extensive experience drafting, negotiating and securing oil/gas leases and  easements and Surface Damage Agreements as must be proficient in promoting landowner relations.

Detailed Description

Coordinate and execute the day to day office operations and field operations.

  • Negotiate equitable settlement of surface damages, ROW Agreements, Road Access Agreements & Surface Use Agreements 

  • Run title in county records to determine ownership and obtain title curative where necessary

  • Research and Investigate location of mineral owners

  • Analyze title opinions 

  • Compiling and reporting data.

  • Collaborate with and provide regular updates to the Newfield Denver office.

  • Track and report all business related expenses.

  • Perform responsibilities within the standard procedures and established policies.

  • Coordinates the acquisition of oil and gas leases and title work between land brokers and Denver office.

  • Assemble data and maps in connection with acreage

  • Provide both written and oral presentations to management

  • Position is located at Newfield’s Watford City, ND Office.

 

Job Requirements

  • MUST RESIDE NORTH DAKOTA IN THE WILLISTON OR WATFORD CITY OR SURROUNDING AREA.

  • Must possess advanced analytical skills.

  • Strategic thinker with ability to identify areas of improvement and to introduce innovative and sound solutions.

  • Ability to prepare and present clear, concise and persuasive oral/written opinions, reports and presentations.

  • Extremely organized individual with the capacity to plan, prioritize and complete multiple projects concurrently.

  • Energetic self-starter with the ability to work in a deadline oriented environment and the flexibility of working extended hours as needed.

  • Must have knowledge of land principles and their application with the ability to analyze leases, division orders, and contracts to determine ownership within a prospect.

  • Independent judgment and in-depth knowledge of lease purchase agreements, royalties, land fees, and geophysical options

  • Superior negotiation skills

  • Analytical and research skills

  • Proficient PC skills, including the ability to utilize spreadsheets (Excel), word processing applications, operating systems, database and communications software programs.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or land management

  • Minimum of 6-12 years working in Oil and Gas Industry with proven experience in negotiating various types of land related transactions

  • Some travel may be required
