Brief Posting Description

 Responsible for purchasing, material control, and surplus disposal for the Completions & Operations Departments.

Detailed Description


  • Responsible for the procurement & coordination of pressure vessels, artificial lift equipment, OCTG (tubing), line pipe, completion accessories & ancillary services including inspections, testing, third party monitoring, & transportation to facilitate the production & completion operations of Newfield’s Onshore Gulf Coast and Williston regions.

  • Works closely with the production teams to forecast, procure and deliver the required goods & services on a timely basis to support its operations.

  • Co-ordinate the disposal of surplus equipment for the region.
  • Work closely with Material Control personnel to insure proper handling and billing for goods and services.

Job Requirements


  • In-depth knowledge of specific completion & workover techniques & practices.

  • Ability to interface effectively with engineering staff, management, financial personnel within the company, as well as outside vendors.

  • Demonstrated achievements in developing strong & lasting relationships with vendors.

  • Ability to negotiate effectively for the company for required goods & services.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal & written.

  • Work effectively with little supervision within groups or alone as required.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deadlines. Often need to “think outside the box” to accomplish team goals.

Additional Details


  • Minimum College degree required preferably in business.

  • Strong background in purchasing, materials management & accounting.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in purchasing for an E&P organization.
  • Occasional travel will be required.
